Have an interest in both science and social studies? Want to win competitions? This course will go over the essentials of world geography at the middle school level. Both physical, political, and social geography will all be taught along with bits of relevant history as well. This course will appeal to graduated 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade students. This course is not difficult whatsoever, as much of it can honestly be done by looking at maps and Google, hence rote learning and self-exploration are emphasized.
-Must have a decent laptop/computer with a working mic and camera
-Students will be given the class code upon enrollment where they can access the meet code
-Students will join sessions by entering the Google Meet link provided for each class
-Announcements and assignments will appear in the stream–it is important that students check this regularly for updates and important reminders

Week 1: Climatology
Introduction to the Koppen Climate Classification, global wind circulation, ocean currents, and their effects on climate.
Week 2: Topography
Names and conventions of describing physical features along with superlatives within each category (longest river, tallest mountain, etc.)
Week 3: Cartography & Political Geography
The structure, features, and importance of maps along with the conventions, logic behind border construction.
Week 4: Population Geography
Population density, globalization, population growth, and how their connections to physical and political geography.
Week 5: Climate Change
Human interference within Earth's natural systems and its effects on all types of geography.
